Susannah Miles – Teacher

I’m Sue Miles.  I was thrilled with the opportunity to take ownership of TCCL Day Nursery in the autumn of 2015.

I’m an Early Years Teacher – a new qualification designed for graduate Early Years practitioners who wish to drive up standards of care and education in settings for children of 0 – 5 years.

I have worked in the Early Years sector since 2008. I’ve worked in a variety of roles in mainstream schools and the private sector, including a number of one-to-one roles supporting children with special educational needs. I also act as the Inclusion Coordinator for the setting.

I completed my teacher training with a year in an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ setting.  I have a wide interest in early education and am a former Chair of Governors at a local junior school.

TCCL has been serving our local area with tender care and creative learning for many years now, so for us this is a new start – in a familiar place. You will see me in the 3-5’s Preschool Room, as teaching the children is my passion and my privilege.

Claire Browning – Nursery Manager/Baby Room Leader

I’m Claire Browning.  I have worked in childcare since 2006, have a Level 3 diploma in Childcare, and have completed a Management Level 3 course.

I started at TCCL in December 2014, as a Senior Practitioner in the Toddler room, became Deputy Manager alongside Ginette in March 2015 and became Manager in July 2015.

Although my job description is office based, I am a ‘hands on’ Manager and Practitioner. I am currently leading the baby room.

I’m an organised person – which is useful as I have an overview of all of the children and make sure that the learning journeys are up to date.  I team up with the nursery Practitioners at regular intervals to discuss the progress of their key children, and together we plan to aid their development.  I get the chance to build relationships with parents and hope that I am approachable.

Being the Nursery Manager is a constant learning journey, and I am proud of and excited by the progress we make.

Ginette Mittell – Toddler Room Senior Practitioner / Deputy Manager

GinetteI’m Ginette Mittell.  I have worked at TCCL since 2003, and qualified in 2006 with a level 3 diploma in Child Day Care.  I became Deputy Manager in 2007.

I have two grown-up sons and am a proud grandmother.

I have worked with all ages within the setting, but now work with the 2-3’s.  I’m the room leader for the 2-3 Toddler room.  I find my job very rewarding, and enjoy all aspects of my role.  I get to join in with the role-playing games and see how the children interpret the world around them.  I like to read stories and get into character.  I very much enjoy creative activities, particularly putting displays together – and I’m told I build an amazing den.

I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the setting.
