We have one enclosed garden, which is accessible in all weathers, with artificial grass and a nature area for exploring. In the summer we sometimes have tea together in the garden. This is a great social experience for the children as they get to sit with children from the other base rooms.

Our garden has a fixed mud kitchen and cosy tepee for the children to rest and read stories. Practitioners take toys and activities out into the garden to cater for the children’s interests and developmental needs.

We also have a growing area at the nursery entrance. Here the children plant fruit and vegetables, herbs and flowers. The experiences enable the children to learn about the environment around them, caring for living things and growth and decay.

All children that attend TCCL are given the opportunities to play in the garden every day, no matter the weather.
