Susannah Miles – Teacher
I’m Sue Miles. I was thrilled with the opportunity to take ownership of TCCL Day Nursery in the autumn of 2015.
I’m an Early Years Teacher – a new qualification designed for graduate Early Years practitioners who wish to drive up standards of care and education in settings for children of 0 – 5 years.
Although it is a new qualification, I’m not new to Early Years education having spent 9 years working as a Nursery Nurse since my own children started school. I’ve worked in a variety of roles including a number of one-to-one roles supporting children with special educational needs.
I completed my teacher training with a year in an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ setting. I have a wide interest in early education and am a former Chair of Governors at a local junior school.
TCCL has been serving our local area with tender care and creative learning for many years now, so for us this is a new start – in a familiar place. You will see me around the nursery, working in all of the rooms, as teaching the children is my passion and my privilege.

Claire Browning – Nursery Manager
I’m Claire Browning. I have worked in childcare for 10 years, have a Level 3 diploma in Childcare, and am currently enrolled on a Management Level 3 course.
I started at TCCL in December 2014, as a Senior Practitioner in the Toddler room, became Deputy Manager alongside Ginette in March 2015 and became Manager in July 2015.
Although my job is office based, I am a ‘hands on’ Manager and Practitioner. At lunch times I cover in all of the rooms and enjoy my funny conversations with the children.
I’m an organised person – which is useful as I have an overview of all of the children and make sure that the learning journeys are up to date. I team up with the nursery Practitioners at regular intervals to discuss the progress of their key children, and together we plan to aid their development. I get the chance to build relationships with parents and hope that I am approachable.
Being the Nursery Manager is a constant learning journey, and I am proud of and excited by the progress we make.

Ginette Mittell – Pre-School Senior Practitioner / Deputy Manager
I have two grown-up sons and have recently become a proud grandmother.
I have worked with all ages within the setting, but mainly with the 3-5s. I’m the room leader for the 3-5 Pre-School room. I find my job very rewarding, and enjoy all aspects of my role. I get to join in with the role-playing games and see how the children interpret the world around them. I like to read stories and get into character. I very much enjoy creative activities, particularly putting displays together – and I’m told I build an amazing den.
I am the designated safeguarding officer for the setting.

Annette Cox – Toddler Room Senior Practitioner
I’m Annette Cox. I have worked in childcare for 14 years. I’ve been at TCCL since 2013, where I am Senior Practitioner in the Toddler room.
I’m a mum to two beautiful children, one of whom has attended TCCL since he was 16 months old – and loves it.
I love the fact that no two days are the same, and even though we plan activities I like the spontaneous activities too. I enjoy reading stories, saying all of the different voices for the characters, making the children laugh.
Working with children is very rewarding. It can be challenging and demanding at times, but it makes it all worthwhile to see the children laugh, learn, have fun and grow.

Jackie Ravenscroft-Hession – Senior Practitioner Baby Room
I’m Jackie Ravenscroft-Hession . I am room senior in the baby room which I enjoy tremendously. I have a level 3 diploma in Childcare, and have worked in childcare for 10 years. I’m a wife and a mother to two grown-up children.
I love working with children. I find it quite challenging but very rewarding. It is such a pleasure to see them grow in all areas of development. When working with babies I see them learn to walk, talk, and build relationships with others. It is amazing to see how quickly they learn, and how their personalities develop.
